Intercity come to Castalia looking for back-to-back wins in what will be a competitive game between two motivated teams. The Albinegres are looking to make it three from three after last week’s successful trip to Melilla, and we could see the debut of new signing Julio Gracia, who was unavailable to play last week.
However, the Castellón squad is by no means at full strength, with Cristian ruled out due to an injury he picked up against Melilla, and Falé also unavailable. Moyita is serving the last game of his three-match ban, but Raúl Sánchez and Jeremy de Leon should be back available.
Manager Dick Schreuder described Intercity as an aggressive team that likes to press, and even though most season predictions see the side from Alicante as being in the bottom half of the table, the Dutchman predicts a tough game that will be a good test for Castellón early in the season. Indeed, it was an impressive win for the visitors last time out against a tough Alcoyano side, after losing their season opener away at Recreativo Huelva 3-1.
The Intercity squad features a number of former Castellón players, including Emilio Nsue and Rafa Galvez, as well as the likes of Pol Roigé, who has played in the Romanian first division.
In their encounters last season, Castellón won by the narrowest of margins at home but struggled away, with Intercity winning 3-1 in Alicante. Although this time around it will be a Castellón with a totally different approach, and more goals should be expected.
